Do the tutorials, all of them...then to the Sister's of EVE arc. You will get free stuff and plenty of ISK to start off. For level one missions, I enjoyed my punisher.

Missioning with Amarr I used a Harbinger then an Abaddon to great effect. They are slow, but they will blow the crap out of everything without moving.
